For furniture removal, prepare a clear view of the item and understand the route it will need to travel. A close-up of a sofa cushion tells much less than a picture showing the whole sofa and the space around it.
Start with a useful main photo
Use enough light to show the entire item. Step back rather than cutting off the legs, arms or top. If several pieces are part of the pickup, make their number and size clear.
Keep extra views handy if more detail is needed. Useful views include the side of a deep sofa, the full length of a sectional and any broken or loose parts. Avoid including people, private documents or unrelated personal information.
Write down basic measurements
Record the furniture’s approximate width, depth and height. For a large piece, check the narrowest doorway and any tight turns along the route. Note the floor it is on and whether stairs or an elevator are involved.
These measurements help you describe the situation. They do not guarantee that an item can be moved through a particular opening.
Look at the full exit route
Check the path from the furniture to the building exit, including hallways, stair landings and gates. For an apartment or managed building, ask about elevator reservations and access rules before choosing a pickup time.
An access photo can be useful if a doorway or staircase is difficult to describe. Keep that view handy if more information is needed to clarify access.
Keep preparation safe
Empty drawers and remove personal belongings. Do not lift a heavy piece, take it apart or remove a door just to improve a photo. Follow the instructions for your booking before changing how the furniture is positioned.
